Janet Lee
Nashville-based illustrator Janet Lee made her first foray into illustration with the Twitter serial, "Diary of a Mad Scientist Garden Gnome" by New York Times bestselling author Alethea Kontis. She followed that by co-creating Return of the Dapper Men with writer Jim McCann which won the 2011 Eisner Award for Best New Graphic Album, received glowing reviews in USA Today, MTVGeek Guide, and was featured in the 2010 Holiday Gift Guides for Publisher's Weekly, USA Today, and the New York Times. Janet and Jim are working on the sequel, Time of the Dapper Men which will be published in 2013.
Most recently Janet has worked for Marvel Entertainment, illustrating serialized adaptations of Jane Austen's classic novels Emma and Northanger Abbey. Rejoining collaborator Alethea Kontis, she illustrated the Wonderland Alphabet, through Archaia; in the past year, Janet has also contributed to two anthologies, Womanthology and The Graphic Textbook.Janet lives in East Nashville with her husband, novelist Mike Lee, her son Ethan, one very sweet pitt bull named Odie, and one very bad cat named Pye.
